New data on Free and Clear homeownership - January 22, 2013
Zillow is a wonderful tool, jammed packed with data, and many times, interesting observations. While it is no match for an appraisal, you can still learn a lot by using the data.
Zillow has a research department, and with their massive collection of data, they have spotted some interesting trends that might have otherwise been difficult to ascertain. One of these trends or realizations is that free and clear home ownership is highest in Louisiana and lowest in the District of Columbia. California ranks fifth lowest at 22%.
No surprises here, but free and clear home ownership is highest for those in the 65-74 year age bracket (21%).
